Last night, Twilight star Kellan Lutz issued his first tweet from his brand new Twitter page (@KellanLutz), an account, he states in his bio, that he began “to spread awareness concerning the indigenous charities I care deeply for in hopes of gaining your love and support.”

In the first tweet, Lutz stated, “Every one of us can be a light to this world and make a difference. It’s our time; lets change this world and let our voices be heard.”

Discriminating Twilight fans, who’ve learned the hard way that there are a great many faker accounts for the Twilight cast out there, were cautious about the account’s legitimacy at first, but the page has just been verified as official.

Lutz’s second tweet furthered his bio’s quest by introducing his fandom to some of his favorite charitable causes, “I am 4 NOLA” and the St. Bernard Project.

Right now, Lutz is in New Orleans working on his forthcoming film Love, Wedding, Marriage with Mandy Moore.
