Kellan Lutz Loved Arm Wrestling Kristen Stewart In ‘Breaking Dawn’
filed in Interview, Video

‘Twilight’ star, at ‘Love, Wedding, Marriage’ premiere, reveals favorite scene to MTV News.
Ask a “Twilight” fan which “Breaking Dawn” scene is their favorite or which they’re most looking forward to seeing on the big screen, and you’ll likely get a hundred different answers. But, ask a “Twilight” castmember the same question, and you might get similarly themed responses from all of them. At least, that’s been the case when MTV News has approached the “Twilight” crew about the film: They all love the Kristen Stewart-as-a-vampire scenes.

Our latest example comes courtesy of Kellan Lutz, who, when we caught up with him at the premiere of his new romantic comedy, “Love, Wedding, Marriage,” offered this commentary about his favorite “Breaking Dawn” scene to shoot:

“I would have to say the arm-wrestling scene with Bella,” he said, speaking about when newly turned and newly super-strong vamp Bella (Stewart) battles beefy Emmett Cullen (Lutz). “It turned out really well. I think the fans are really going to enjoy it.”

Lutz isn’t the only one who enjoyed Stewart as a vampire: Both Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson have admitted they loved seeing Stewart get feisty.

“We did a scene in the backyard of the Cullen house where Bella (Stewart) gets mad at me,” Lautner revealed. “She just learned that I imprinted on her daughter, and she is literally throwing me around the backyard. So it was pretty fun to see Kristen try and act all tough. She’s a vampire; she’s chucking me across the yard into trees and stuff. It was funny.”

Pattinson told us back in January: “It’s like she wanted to do it the entire time. It’s really funny: It’s like a completely different environment onset when she’s a vampire and when she’s not.”

Kellan Lutz talks ‘Immortals’
filed in Projects

One of the most anticipated films of 2011 is visionary director Tarsem Singh’s (The Cell, The Fall) Immortals. The movie is loosely based on Greek mythology and is scheduled for release in 3D on November 11th. Immortals features an all-star cast of veteran and young actors that includes soon-to-be-Superman Henry Cavill, as well as Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire), Mickey Rourke (Iron Man 2), Kellan Lutz (Twilight), Luke Evans (Robin Hood), Isabel Lucas (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen), Stephen Dorff (Blade), and John Hurt (Alien).

The film tells the story of the brutal and bloodthirsty King Hyperion (Rourke), and his murderous army’s rampage across Greece in search of the Bow of Epirus. With the invincible Bow, the king will be able to overthrow the Gods of Olympus and become the undisputed master of his world. With ruthless efficiency, Hyperion and his legions destroy everything in their wake, and it seems nothing will stop the evil king’s mission. As village after village is obliterated, a stonemason named Theseus (Cavill) vows to avenge his mother, who was killed in one of Hyperion’s brutal raids. When Theseus meets the Sybelline Oracle, Phaedra (Pinto), her disturbing visions of the young man’s future convince her that he is the key to stopping the destruction. With her help, Theseus assembles a small band of followers and embraces his destiny in a final, desperate battle for the future of humanity.

I recently had a chance to speak with actor Kellan Lutz while he was attending the premiere of his latest film Love, Wedding, Marriage, directed by Dermot Mulroney and co-staring Mandy Moore. Lutz is best know to audiences for his role as Emmett Cullen in the Twilight series of films, as well as his appearance in the recent remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. But that will all change soon as the actor is taking on the role of Poseidon, the God of the sea in Singh’s upcoming film. I took the opportunity to speak with Lutz about Immortals and I began by asking the actor if he is excited for the film’s inevitable release. “I’m really excited for Immortals,” answered Lutz.

I followed up by asking the actor what it was like for him to work with a director as visually stylistic as Singh. “Working with Tarsem was amazing. I make a vision board every year to try and show my goals and work up to them. I’ve been a huge fan of Tarsem for a long time,” explained Lutz. “He’s just visually stimulating and amazing. I love The Fall and I love The Cell, so to work with him on this movie was great.”

Lutz went on to discuss why he was so excited to be playing the God of the sea. “Then also to play Poseidon was great because my birthday is March 15th and I’m a Pisces,” he explained. “So to play Greek mythology, and to play Poseidon with this all-star cast and crew was just a dream come true.”

Finally, the actor had this to say about his experience making Immortals. “It really felt like I was a part of something special, which I am,” said Lutz. “It was an honor to work beside the cast and crew and it just felt like I was at a different caliber as an actor.”

Immortals will be released in theaters on November 11th.

Kellan Lutz on Breaking Dawn: “A Long Seven Months That Got Longer and Longer”
filed in News, Projects

No doubt Kellan Lutz is grateful for being a part of the Twilight franchise, but even he was a bit relieved when the two Breaking Dawn flicks finally wrapped.

Poor guy had a bad case of homesickness.

And who can blame him really?

We’ll let Mr. Lutz explain…

“Honestly, it was a long seven months that got longer and longer,” he told me at Britney Spears’ St. Bernard Project benefit. “That’s a long time being away from my home, my friends and my dogs.”

As Lutz fans know, his pooches mean everything to him. “I love my dogs,” he said. “And when you’re in Canada, it’s kind of tough to fly them in and out. Ashley [Greene] did it and that made it even harder for me not to have my dogs there.”

Next up for Lutz is the romantic comedy Love, Wedding, Marriage opposite Mandy Moore, but we have to say we’re most excited about Immortals, an action-packed Greek epic in which he plays Poseidon. “It’s probably my most favorite project,” he said.

And from what we can tell (and have been hearing from people who have seen early screenings, for that matter), the former Calvin Klein underwear model looks hotter than ever wearing, well, not much as the god of the sea.

And yes, it’s that Immortals flick—the one starring Superman-to-be, Henry Cavill. “He’s going to be the best Superman,” Lutz predicted. “He kills it in Immortals as Theseus, and he’s going to kill it as Superman.”

Kellan Lutz and Camilla Belle in talks for indie dramedy “Bumped”
filed in News, Projects

Variety reports that Kellan Lutz and Camilla Belle are currently in talks to star alongside each other in Stephen Herek’s indie dramedy “Bumped.” The film tells the story of five strangers who get bumped off their flight resulting in a long layover at O’Hare Airport in Chicago. While in limbo, details about each individual’s personal lives are revealed and eventually changed.

Although Lutz is most well known for playing Robert Pattinson’s burly vampire brother Emmett in “The Twilight Saga” films, along with the release of the first installment of Breaking Dawn in November, he also has “Immortals” which hits theatres the same month. He’s also been cast in the role opposite Mandy Moore in “Love, Wedding, Marriage.” Belle, meanwhile, was last seen in “From Prada to Nada” and will next film “Zebras,” the South African soccer flick.

Production for “Bumped” is expected to begin next month.
